please read the main info thread if you haven't already, especially if you plan on making a character with powers/magicNaraluus, the Fractured City
Naraluus is the only city within a wide, desert-like arid country with rocky terrain, and canyons. There is plenty of vegetation around, but usually in the form of sparse grass, short trees, and tough prickly bushes. The city sits on the coast, built around a bay of the Meviahn sea on it's Western side. The island kingdom of Meviah is an ally to Naraluus, as the two city-states have a shared cultural, religious, ethnic, and linguistic history going back 2,000 years.
The city is old, circular shaped with two layers of sandstone walls. Many of the houses and buildings are made of old sandstone bricks, but colour is painted everywhere on walls, or mosaics, colourful tapestry and shining metal decorations fill the streets and buildings. Before the strife of the last year, the city was a beacon of education, art, and sciences. The city was also a hub of sorcerers and magic. Now much of Naraluus's pretty architecture is being destroyed by the recent succession conflict.
The palace of Naraluus has been under siege by its own princes and armies. The city has fractured into districts, the army fractured, the people fractured and taking up sides with one of the 5 younger princes vying for power. The eldest crowned heir of Naraluus has been under siege by his younger siblings for the past 10 months since their father, the old king's, death.
The bulk of the army and defenses rests with the crown prince, he has control of the palace but no control over the rest of the city. The other 5 princes each control a district of the city, now no longer much concerned with the crown prince, but trying to conquer as much of the city from the other princes as possible.
Thanks to the palace being by the coastal edge of the city, the crown prince has a port leading into the palace with which he can receive supplies from Meviah, send messages or escape if need be, but he won't abandon the city yet.
Not only that, but there is another threat on the horizon as the Ilsar from the North might take advantage of this disorder and chaos in the city to invade Naraluus, thus giving the Ilsar empire an access-point to the sea.Rules/Notes:
-- no godmodding, OP characters, taking control of other people's characters, etc
-- I'm using the term "prince" kind of gender-neutrally here, if you make a "prince" character they don't have to be male.Joining Form:
