Soul Takers 2.0

Kirin appears on the window sill, her eyes still shining silver "She doesn't know who she is Kyudo." She sat on her perch and tilted her head, her white hair falling over her shoulder.

"She? Who are you" He growls, the crystals nearby starting to glow red as his power escalated.

She smiled sweetly, "I don't know. Kirin doesn't know her past, it's been forgotten, erased for her mind, so I don't know who I am. I'm a part of her. When her eyes change again, there's a chance she may not remember this, but she sees as well as I, and when we see you, there is something there, something we remember" her eyebrows knitted together in deep thought and she bit her bottom lip, trying to remember what it had been. She looked at the crystals and scoffed at him, "Oh for goodness sake Kyudo, settle down."

"Someone placed a block on your mind...and my power isn't predictable enough to break it..." He sighs and sits, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood again as he clutches his head, "What am I supposed to do!!!" The crystals tremble as the confusion clouds his mind.

Kirin stood at stepped off of her perch, walking up close to him and wiping some of the blood away from his lip with her cloth. "Don't bite down so hard, it's not going to feel good later," she warned, her eyes focused on her wiping.

"I'll be fine, it's nothing compared to the pain of hell or the pain of losing my only love" He yanks away from her, his eyes full of defiance.

Kirin rolls her eyes and walks back towards the window, waving her hand and blowing it open, she looked back at him, "You're not even a little bit curious to know what it was we remembered?"

He forces the window closed again, "I never said I wasn't so don't get so hasty" He stands, the fire having reentered his eyes, "So tell me then."

"I'll be as hasty as I want" she said moderately calmly as she plopped down on the window sill again. "What will you do once I tell you?"

"That depends, I could destroy you or i could protect you and cherish you for the rest of my existence." He looks down sadly, "I'm hoping for the latter"

She smiled sweetly and stood with a bit of a grunt. "We look at you and we remember flames. We can smell the smoke and feel the fear and panic rising in our chest..." she move towards him. "We see your eyes and we remember..." her eyes faded to their natural, sea foam green "... who you were."

Kirin smiled and backed towards the window, leaning against the wall

"I can't fight him if it comes down to it." Riley said. He shook.

He looks down slightly, "What version of me do you remember. Many knew the flames and several remembered me as nothing but a murderer. But who do you remember..?"

Kirin sighed slightly and studied his eyes carefully, "I don't really know. I can just see your face, you're concerned, frightened even. Until I'd seen you change, just for that moment, I'd only known you to be 'Archer' or the archer, but never your name."

"Then I don't think you are her...though..." He throws his hands out, slamming shut all exits, "You are not allowed to leave until I know for sure" His eyes glint.

Kirin sat on the windo sill again and looked him a bit sad and tired looking, "I don't know how you will. I should be looking after Rei right now"

"Rei will be fine...I won't let anything happen to her." The glint of power in his eyes seemed to prove a secondary protection over his daughter.

She nodded and rested her back against the side of the window and brought her legs up towards her chest "Well Kyudo, what are you going to do? I have no way of proving that I'm who I dare say you want me to be, much less knowing" her voice was soft, quite, and little unsure.

"Then maybe...maybe we should just try to maybe..." A slight blush tinged his cheeks, "Start to try and grow closer?"

Kirin looked up at him, seeming confused, "Well you may not want to lock a girl in your room before taking her to dinner first" she teased lightly, a small smile appearing on her lips

A small smile pierces his hard gaze and he laughs lightly, "Don't act like you don't enjoy it, that blush isn't fooling anyone sweetheart."

"Oh? I hadn't realized I'd have to fool someone, now that is something I could do if I really wanted" she smiled and rested her chin on her knees

He chuckled, motioning for her to come over and smiling brightly, "You do remind me of her but who knows... maybe I'll fall in love with someone new and defeat all odds" He grins

Kirin smiled and rolled her eyes before leaving her perch and going over to him, "Well now would you look at that, he does smile"

He grins and nods, "Only in the presence of someone who i believe deserves it."
