Soul Takers 2.0

Rhett had trouble swallowing the piece of bread and set the plate down on the coffee table before he laid back on the couch again.

When Adri finished eating, she came back into the living room. "So... I st-still don't know m-much about everyone h-here. I'm c-curious. H-how did you m-meet everyone?"

"There was a plane crash a few miles South of here. I was one of the only survivors and I found my way to this house by accident. I've been staying here since." He said.

"How l-long have you b-been here?" Adri asked while her wings fluttered slightly, since she had failed to return to normal yet.

"A little over 3 years." Rhett replied.

"Wow, th-that's quite a while... Do you h-have any family or a-anything that might h-have been looking for you? And you were okay w-with just staying with everyone h-here when you didn't know th-them?" Adri asked, seemingly genuinely interested

"I lost a lot of my memories in the crash." Rhett said. "I'm pretty sure I was already living alone by that time anyway."

(I just remembered something that's kinda funny. Adri might seem very young because she is such an innocent character and she is small, short and thin and everything. But even though she may seem like a really young girl because of that she's still pretty close to being an adult XD I think her actual age she started with in the rp was 17, though imma say she's more like barely 16 now just cause it would be a closer fit to her. She looks like she's 13 though. Lol)

"Oh I see, well, maybe one day you'll l-learn about y-your past." With a smile Adri said, "But at l-least you've m-made good friends r-right?"

[Rhett is probably 20 or 21]

"Yeah I like living here." Rhett said. "Sorry I didn't finish this piece." He grabbed the plate with the slice of garlic bread on it.

"That's okay. I kn-know you aren't f-feeling well." Adri replied.

"That obvious huh? Dang I've been trying to hide it from Char and Riley." Rhett said.

"Well I s-saw you take the painkiller a-and I saw you w-wince a few times." Adri answered with a shrug. "I j-just put two and t-two together"

"I bought them for Kro but she died before I got back." Rhett sighed.

"R-right... well... you shouldn't hide th-that you aren't well. I'm s-sure someone c-could help..." Adri said with a sigh. "Why are y-you trying to h-hide it?"

"Because with Doom everyone has bigger things to worry about. It's just a stomach ache." Rhett said.

"And wh-what if you're wrong? What i-if it is more than a st-stomach ache?" Adri asked while narrowing her eyes. "You n-need to take care of y-yourself!"

"That's what the painkillers are for." Rhett chuckled.

Adri frowned and replied, "And if it is a-anyth-thing other than a st-stomach ache, then it won't be enough to j-just take painkillers."

"It's most likely not anything more than a stomach ache, more common than anything else it could be. You're overreacting a bit." Rhett said.

"I'm overreacting? J-just because I d-don't believe in j-just assuming? I've seen the m-memories of the other d-dimensions that were d-destroyed. And more than o-once someone assumed s-someth-thing like that and they were wrong. I'm c-cautious." Adri replied with a deadpan look on her face.

"There's a difference between assuming and making an educated guess." Rhett said.

"Whatever." Adri shrugged, "If it is s-something else d-don't say I didn't warn y-you. I just think it's better to be s-safe than sorry."

"It's just a bit of an ache, there's no point worrying about it until it gets worse. It'll probably be gone by tonight." Rhett scoffed.

"Y-you're even more st-stubborn than your other s-self my family met" Adri said

"Oh?" Rhett asked curiously. "Your brother said something like I was more than human, or whatever he said. I guess the Rhett in the other dimension is quite a bit different."
