“Why not? Surely a whole counsel of demons could take this place if they wanted, although I doubt they would want to.” Ignace questioned

Charlotte came downstairs and went to sit by Nephele.

"Because of the deal Riley and the Devil made. If I die Riley takes over the position of the Devil and no one really wants that change in power." Colton said.

"When was the last time there was a change in power like that?" Ignace asked. He'd been a demon for around 70 years but he was still pretty new to it.

"None that I have heard of." Colton said.

“Well that means you’re currently the devil right? If you die the position goes to Riley?”

Charlotte heard them talking and went out to the porch, bringing Nephele with her but making sure the skinny 12 year old put on a jacket first.

"No, I'm not. If I die, the other half of the power that is in the Devil becomes transferred into Riley." He said. "It's part of the deal we made. "Riley does the dirt work on earth for my safety."

“That makes more sense. I imagine if you were the devil you would’ve killed me in that fight instead of just giving me a few scratches.” Ignace nodded

"Yeah...sorry about that by the way...I wasn't myself." He said.

"I knew you weren't but even so I was a complete stranger I wouldn't blame you for attacking me." Ignace added.

Colton nodded and sighed. "Well I guess we'll just have to wait longer." He sighed and went back into the house.

“Anything to do while we wait?” Ignace asked. “What normally happens around here?”

Rhett started coughing and pulled himself out of bed weakly. He didn’t have time to make it to the bathroom before throwing up in the large bowl Charlotte had left in his room for that purpose. Dizzily he fell back into bed and stared at the ceiling.

Damien replied, "Well, gathering power is definitely the first step. The second... well it's simple really. We kill the group that the girl decided to join. We pick off their most powerful members one by one, then it is just a matter of time before we kill her. If we can kill her before she learns how to control her powers, we will be fully safe in this dimension. From there we just have to find the other dimensions that the family exists in. It wouldn't be very difficult to just kill them. And to make this even simpler, the girl doesn't know how to use any of her powers. Eli stopped her from using them for a very long time so we wouldn't track her." He looked at Eli, "You really are an ingenious devil. But the only hell you inflict anymore is on your own family. I can't believe you don't see the darkness that is innate within you old man."

Eli growled, "There's one flaw with your plan. My son will come back to save his daughter."

Alec laughed then and replied, "My father? Really? He's gone through so many dimensions and ran for so long... I doubt that he can even remember which dimension he left us in. Besides, he never came for me either. You're a fool."

Adri just wandered around aimlessly throughout the house. She couldn't stop thinking about what Doom, Damien, and Alec planned to do to this dimension.

"Normally not a lot." Colton  said. "Honestly this is the most that has happened in months." He said. He heard the sound of throwing up and sighed.

"Never underestimate a father, kid." Doom hissed. "I was betrayed by the one who made me because his started to "love" his daughter, and I told him to focus on our task." He snarled.  

Luka was standing in the hallway.  He saw Adri. "Whats wrong kid? You look pale as a ghost." He said.

"There's a training room in the basement is there not?" Ignace asked. "Sparring could help take your mind off things, relieve some stress."

Adri glanced over and the image of a paper saying "I always do, what's new?" appeared in Luka's head. Technically she was correct, she always did look pale, but she knew that wasn't what Luka meant.

Alec rolled his eyes, "Connor doesn't care about us. He can claim he left to let us live in peace all he wants, but that little idea of his failed and he never showed back up. He's no father to me."

(Is Riley gonna come back to the base soon?)

(Yeah.)

Colton nodded. "Yeah it may help." He said.

"Be that way then boy, watch in pain when he does return." He said.

Ignace went downstairs to the training room while Charlotte watched after Nephele.

"If he does, I'll kill him." Alec said without very much emotion showing on his face. It really seemed like he didn't care at all.

"Good luck." Doom huffed at Alec.

The house was silent for a few more hours. At 3 am the front door slammed as Riley came storming in snarling things under his breath he hissed as flames licked around him, an unusual trait to see coming from the Earth manipulator.

Adri was just sitting around when Riley came in the house and she noticed something was off. She sent an image to Riley asking, "What's wrong?"

"I was only able to get back up from there of the seven demon Kings!" He sighed. I was hoping to get more, close to all of them." He groaned as he got a beer and started to drink.

Adri smiled and being the optimist she was, she replied, "W-well every l-little bit helps r-right?"
