“We should get Rhett’s car up and running again, he could drive Neph and anyone else far enough away.” Charlotte said. “I’ll stick around, I’m the best one at healing you’re going to need that when Doom attacks.”

"No, I want you to go to. If we fail here some one strong will need to protect the others."

"Than I will go with them." Luka said from across the hall way. Riley looked over his shoulder at the one of many sons of his, his eyes softening. "I may only be a half demon, but I have learned to fight full fledged demons. I also picked up your bad habit of loving women, however unlike you I was able to stay with my kids until they where 20 at least." He said. "I'd be able to help Neph learn to use her abilities, at least in a battle sense."

"You would be willing to do that?" Riley asked his voice seeming to crack, but not. Luka nodded curtly. "Thank you...Lukarious."

"I haven't been called that in almost 200 years... not sense the last time you called me that." He sighed.

"Y-yes, well, it's late let us rest up for tonight. Tomorrow we can have a proper meeting and discuss it then." Riley said.

“Alright.” Charlotte stretched her one arm up and yawned. “I’ll try and coax Rhett out of his room tomorrow he’s basically locked himself in there the past couple days. He’d be happy to see his car fixed though even if he is already so used to living here.”

"Good, plan." he said. "Sleep well, both of you." He said as he walked away from them.

"Get a lot of good sleep." Charlotte said.

"One can only try." Riley said as he left her room.

Charlotte went to sleep quickly but woke up very early the next morning, before dawn. She went down to the kitchen quietly and made some tea.

Luka was down there when she woke up. He as drinking coffee and reading a book. He looked like Riley for a moment, but more mature , in a way.

"What time did you get up?" She yawned and asked, sitting down across from him.

"About an hour ago or so." He said.

"Hopefully we'll decide on what to do today." Charlotte said. "We can't just wait for Doom to come at us again."

"I'm sure we will. Dad, may not be the most connected to the outside world, but he is one of the smartest people I know." Luka said. "Here let me make you breakfast."

“Thank you, that’s very nice of you.” Charlotte smiled brightly and sipped her tea.

"Of course. I'm use to making people breakfast. I picked up my father's bad habit of loving people too much..." Luka chuckled as he gathered ingredients. "However, unlike him, i didn't have to keep moving from place to place." He said. "What do you want?"

"Anything is fine, maybe some scrambled eggs too." Charlotte said. She went to the shelf in the living room and grabbed a book.

"Got it." He said as he turned the burner on.

Nephele jumped down the stairs cheerfully and pulled herself up onto the stool next to Charlotte.

"Morning." Luka said cheerfully.

"Good morning." Nephele smiled at Luka. She leaned over to look at the book Charlotte was reading with interest.

"How do you like your eggs?" He asked.

"Scrambled with cheese and pepper." Neph said with sharp certainty.

He nodded and started to make the eggs.

"Are we doing anything today?" Neph asked, looking both to Charlotte and Luka for an answer. She leaned back in her seat and tapped on the table boredly.

"I'll be helping dad put up barriers around the house." Luka said.

"I want to go see the town with the people in it, the one down the highway." Neph said.
