Soul Takers 2.0

"Hey Mahic!" Colton called from down stairs a few days later. "Breakfast is ready."

"Coming!" Mahic raced down the stairs, sliding into the kitchen and almost falling over. Catching herself quickly she moved in to sit on one of the stools.

Kro sat in a tree not far from the house, hidden. He had reached the house the night before, the serpent's head telling him that was the way to find the nearest demon, but he had no clue where to start. Was he supposed to just go in and find the demon or maybe lure it out and catch it? What if there were more demons or people in there as well? He'd slept in the tree all night and was still thinking of a plan.

"Hey Glitch will you get Scar off of the roof and tell him that breakfast is ready?" Rylee asked. Colton took a pan of food from Rylee. As he took the pan Rylee's arm just fell to the floor severed from his body. Colton jumped back startled and almost throwing the food out the window. Rylee looked down and huffed. "Damn it...." He swore. He picked it up with his other hand and set it back in place as he sewed it together with tree roots. "Colton...later I need your help." Glitch knew it was code for the fact they were gonna go kill some pour soul for the body for Colton's use.

"Why in God's name is he on the roof!?" Glitch looked over at Rylee. She bit her lip a bit when she watched Rylee's hand fall off and knew what he meant by the code. Walking outside she prepared to climb up to the roof.

Kro sat up quickly when he saw someone come outside of the house. Watching her carefully he wasn't exactly sure what to do. She was looking up at the roof of the house, and for the first time he noticed someone up there as well.

Scar sat on the roof. an unlit cigarette in his mouth. He was just out there looking out at the forest. He didn't even notice Glitch.

Glitch started to climb up the side of the house to the roof. When she got there she sat down beside Scar. "What are you doing up here?" She asked.

Kro controlled one of the tree branches to reach down to the ground and pick up a few stones, bringing them back up to him so he didn't have to leave the tree in risk of being seen. He watched the two on the roof and waited for them to come down.

"I had a bad feeling in the night. So I came out here to think..." He said. He pulled the cig out of his mouth. "I never liked these but just holding one in my mouth helps me think." He said. "What's up?" He asked, waving off what she asked.

"It's breakfast time." She nudged him. "We're all gonna eat and then later Rylee and Colton have to run an errand. Not a very eventful day ahead of us."

"Is it?" He mumbled. "Geeze it's so early!" He laughed. "What ever happened to sleeping in? Oh well." Scar said. He suddenly clutched his chest and coughed. he flipped onto his hands and knees and started to cough up blood. This lately had become a common habit.

"You okay?" She asked, sitting forward and rubbing his back a bit, not knowing what else to do but knowing it wasn't the first or last time he'd be doing that.

"Y-Yeah..." He coughed and wiped the blood off. "I'll be fine." he said giving her a cheesy smile.

"We've got to sort out this thing with you." Glitch didn't yet know exactly what it was. "Ready to go have breakfast then?" She asked

"You bet." He said standing.

She smiled and started to climb down from the roof, jumping the rest of the way when she got close enough to the ground. Standing up again she looked up and waited for Scar.

Scar just jumped off the roof. He landed next to her.He hissed and held his leg.

"You should've just climbed down like normal." Glitch said, looking at him concerned.

"I'm fine, I was just thinking maybe this "link" I share with that freak Doom that Voodoo mentioned was a two way thing. If I hurt myself he gets my pain but I guess not. It's a one way relationship." he huffed standing straight.

"That's a bummer..." Glitch trailed off when she heard a noise from the forest. Looking over at the trees curiously she looked for the source.

Scar looked that way as well. He shifted forms and lifted his nose smelling the air.

Some of the bushes moved and there were more sounds. Kro was the tree next to him rustle and watched the two, hoping to lure them over.

Glitch started to walk over to the forest.

"Wait, Glitch something doesn't seam right." He said.

"I'm sure we can handle it." Glitch replied, moving towards the trees and starting to be a bit more cautious about it.

Scar walked with her.

The snake on the necklace lunged forward hissing and snarling at the two. A dark glint shined on it's eyes. It locked onto Glitch.
