Soul Takers 2.0

Rylee pulled an small white orb from his belt and threw it the area around the house exploded in a flash of light.

Rhett covered his eyes quickly, thinking for a quick moment he'd be blinded.

But the light didn't hurt his eyes. It was more like a heavenly light. All the shadows vanished in the flash. Colton was bleeding on his back and Rylee's arm had been shredded by using the flash bomb.

"What happened? What was that!?" Rhett asked, getting up slowly.

"Hush!" He snapped listening. Colton lifted his nose.

Rhett reluctantly stayed quiet but he wanted answers.

"We're good Ry." He said.

Rylee odded. His arm, now shreaded to bone, stuck out in the dark. "Take him inside Colt."

"Can either of you explained what just happened?" He asked

"We will, inside." Rylee said.

Rhett nodded and followed them inside, taking a last look out at the yard before walking towards the living room.

"They followed him in. "Apollo close the blinds." Rylee ordered.

Rhett wondered why they would need to close the blinds, watching.

Once the room was hidden from prying eyes Apollo cleared his voice. "Now then I must appologize Rylee for that being's attack." He said.

"Yes, yes, but my question is what was it?" He asked.

"A form of a living shadow." Apollo said.

"Living shadow? But that's impossible." Rhett said.

"I agree and then disagree with the child." Rylee said. "Shadow's haven't been alive for thousands, maybe millions of years."

"Yes but the last time a shadow lived was also when a portion of a living shadow was buried deep into the grounds of Pangaea. Since then that buried shadow has been containing and absorbing all other living shadows to stay alive. The shadows are released only now because it woke up and has begun to prey on other living beings." Artie said.

"I knew a couple shadows as friends in my original life, but I'm guessing the shadows you guys are talking about are different?" Kro said.

"Much different." Jinx said. "This shadow...he's not like anything else in the world. H-he can't be killed."

"Bull shit." Rylee growled. "I've killed many shadows."

"But have you ever killed and Anti-Shadow?" Apollo asked.

"A what?" Colton asked.

"What's an Anti-Shadow?" Kro asked, glancing at Rylee when he mentioned he'd killed shadows before.

"It's like a shadow, but not a shadow. An Anti-shadow cannot be purified with light for an Anti-shadow is connected to one human through one form of emotion or feeling." Apollo said. "This Anti-Shadow is connected to LifeShadow here." he said nodding to Chase.

"How are they connected?" He askd.

"Though pain." LS said.

"Is that why you were coughing blood earlier?" Kro asked.

He nodded. "Doom cannot be harmed. Any harm done to him happens to me. I also cannot die unless I'm killed by Doom's own hand." He said.

"Doom?" Rylee said. "This is the Anti-Shadow?"

"Yes." Apollo said. "But to know Doom you must know us..." he said as he told the story of how them, Death and Doom.

Rylee stayed silent for a moment. "So...let me get this straight, you three are brothers, however you are each from a different dimension. Apollo you are well in the simplest sense the original Apollo. Artie is from the second dimension Death and Doom tried to take over and this Jinx is from the most recent and LS is from the same place as Artie?" They nodded.

"What is this about shadows and Anti-shadows? Aren't you guys all human?" Rhett looked to each of them deeply confused.

Apollo laughed. "Bring the boy outside." He said. "Time humans start to become smart." He said as he and the three left.

"Come on kid." Colton said softly.

Rhett followed them, his confusion obvious as they walked outside.

Once they where outside. Apollo nodded. Artie shifted into his beast form, Jinx into the monster dragon and LS into his spino form. Apollo's dead side arm stretched and expanded.
