Soul Takers 2.0

"What is going on?" Charlotte asked, walking towards Riley but keeping a good few feet between them.

"I am calling for help from more than my children." he said.

"You sure seem to have a lot of friends." Charlotte said.

"I am half the devil himself. It can't always be helped." he said.

"It seems like you would make a lot more enemies than friends. Do you need my help?" Charlotte asked.

"No. I will be fine." He said. "Just take care of Neph and the others for now." He said as he walked down into the crack.

Charlotte nodded and took Neph back inside the house. "No!" Neph struggled a bit but Charlotte practically dragged her inside.

Adri just watched Riley descend.

Eli sighed, "And why would I tell you? Im not an idiot Doom. How long have we been at odds again?"

"Far too long, we can benefit from one and other." Doom laughed.

The ground closed up as he disappeared.

Charlotte locked the door behind her and Neph and sat Neph down on the couch. She gestured for Rhett to meet her over in the kitchen and they talked quietly for a while. She noticed he was looking thinner than usual and grabbed an apple from the fridge and offered it to him but he refused.

Colton looked to Neph. "So, Neph...what do you like?" Colton asked from where he lay.

"Like hell! You never benefit anyone but yourself." Eli replied, obviously disgusted at the notion.

Adri waited for a moment before looking back at the house. She sighed and walked in.

"Plants." Neph replied simply, not exactly sure how to answer. She glanced up as Charlotte and Rhett walked back to the living room.

"I mean...do you like games, or animals?" He asked.

CHase smirked. "Oh you know me all to well." He smiled. "But I have to ask you, why did you help me back there?"

“I don’t know any games.” Nephele said

Eli growled, "I didn't. Those idiots did."

Alec rolled his eyes, "It wasnt my idea."

Damien smiled, "We helped you because we have similar interests. You wish to make your.... very limited weakness to go away and we wish to track down Connor and get rid of the girl. Our interests especially align in this regard. The prophecy details how to kill both of us, and they are both the same way. If we end their bloodline now, we are safe."

"The first time I really died, I wasn't even killed by that bloodline. I was killed by three of the children of those two half witted humans. That bitch who could control fire, and that damned dragon ridding fool!" He hissed. "I wish I still had Apollo under my control! He was useful, despite his disobedience. It's a shame I lost control of him when I woke up. It was hard, to kill a good weapon." Doom hissed. "Why is this bloodline so much more special?" He asked.

"Well...why don't we play a game?" Colton said gently with a warm smile.

"What kind of game?" Nephele asked. "Is this really the time to be playing when my dad's out there fighting?"

"He's done fighting for now." He said. "And Yes." Colton said. "I felt him open the gates and leave, all we can do for now is wait."

"What game do you want to play then?" Neph asked.

Charlotte and Rhett sat quietly, Charlotte listening to Colton and Neph talking while staring out the window and Rhett shifted uncomfortably, wincing a bit.

"They have both angel and demon in them, just like the prophecy says, they are also twin grandchildren to a twin. Going down the list of things the prophecy states, they meet every requirement. If we let them reach their potential, then the prophecy will unfold." Damien said in reply

Alec rolled his eyes, "In other words, my sister will gain the power to kill you if you don't do something about it. I for one hold no interest in killing you, either of you. Honestly I would like to see every dimension fall. I feel no connection to anything in them. In fact, I'd even kill her myself."

Eli growled, "Damien, you corrupted him... Alec had a good soul before he disappeared."

Alec glared at Eli, "Shut up, old man! You told everyone i was dead and didnt bother trying to find out if it was true. But I didnt die, and now? Well I'm going to become everyone's worst nightmare."

"Well...let's play... Monopoly." Colton smiled, "Char Rhett, join us."

"I see your point, but What's to stop be from just splitting my soul and putting one part of it into dormancy in another dimension, Like I did with this one?" Doom asked.

Char nodded and grabbed the box from the shelf. She moved the coffee table aside and set it up on the floor. Neph moved over and sat beside her but Rhett didn't move from where he sat, just watching them.

"And just how many times can you split your soul bwfore you're not really you anymore? It would only put off the inevitable." Damien replied. He then said, "But... If we put a stop to it now... There would no longer be a reason to care about the prophecy. If every version of the family is destroyed, nothing can happen."

"I see what you are doing..." He smiled. "And I like it." He smiled.

"Alright Neph, pick a token to use." Wolf smiled brightly.
