" I like the clans better." She saif blunely. " not so competitive between human and monster."

"And that's perfectly fine..." Scar said. "I don't like the clans but I don't feel like I belong there."

" you do belong." Gabby told him frowning that he thought that.

"Gabby, you know I don't and don't act like you don't see it. Other than you, I'm pretty sure other than you the only ones who want me there are Tad and Gen, and they don't really count because they're family." He told her with a sigh. "Gabby, I'm at peace here, and you're at peace with the clans." He explained as he sat down. "We're just different in that aspect."

" what about cheza?" Gabby asked.

"She..." He started and sighed. "She deserves someone other than the Clan's most hated member. She deserves better."

" don't say that." Gabby frowned.

"She does though." Scar said. "She doesn't need a half blind man whose already killed one to teach her how to be a human." He shook his head as he held it in his hands.

" You know that it wasn't your fault loosing her." Gabby yold him. She took his head into her hand. " you are an amazing person who can teach cheza a lot. She looks up to you "

"But she deserves anyone better than me." Scar said. "I can't even be sure of Who I am..." He sighed.

" who else would want to train her?" Gabby asked boldly. " she's not part of the clan and you know how they treat outsiders."

"Tadoda's got no one and he'd love her." He shook his head.

" you need her as much as she needs you." Gabby told him.

"She doesn't need me, not that much. I...I don't- I cant lose another person I love." He whispered more to himself than to her.

" why do you doubt yourself?" Gabby asked taking his face gently in her hands so he could look at her. " you are strong and amazing you have nothing to prove to anyone. So why keep beating up yourself like you have to be the best of the bes?" She spoke calmly and smoothly.

"Because only the best get to change the world." He replied gently as he looked at her. "I want to be the best so I can change this place for the better." He sighed.

" you can change with out beating yourself up."

"That just sounds too good to be true." he said.

" how so?" Gabby asked.

"Tadoda only got stronger after my father and him got stuck out here. How'd he get stronger? He forced himself to wield and use a sword that weighs 50 lbs, and had the ability to lift it with one hand." He said using Tad as an example.

" some things arent about strength."

"Changing the world and the minds of the clans is." Scar said.

" nor always. What do you want to change about the clans?" She asked.

"Their perspective of everything." He explained. "Make them not afraid of the world up here, or be so stubborn to old ways."
