Mortals and Undead (2.0)

"I've been studying the zombies, at least as much as a I can from a distance. Mostly their mannerisms, it might give me hints as to how their nervous system has degraded from the change. Nothing that hasn't already been observed before, probably, but it's something to do that might lead somewhere." Akaru shrugged. "Good to see that you're up and around."

" I know." She said softly. " It's human nature to feel this way."

"That's awesome. I mean well... it's cool that you take such an interest. And yeah I was getting tired of sitting around doing nothing." Wolf said softly. "It was getting rather boring for a bit."

Cutter gave a curt laugh. "Well at least I have that going for me." He said. "At least I'm still human."

"I wonder if we were able to capture and study one, if we could find a cure that way." Akaru said quietly.

Nyla shook her head letting a small chuckle out. " Of course you're still human. Probably more human then I am "

"Nyla, I'm infected." He shook his head. "My heart beats slower than normal." He said.

"I think that was one of the things they tried first." He said.

" if you were truely infected I would have felt it." Nyla told him.

"Not exactly, we still don't know why I am this way." He said. "Well I should say they don't know."

" true. But I can tell the difference between true living life force verses zombie." Nyla told him. " A real living person, it feels stronger, more intense..."

Cutter smirked lightly. "You know...it's hot as shit when you talk about that." He said gently.

" what?" Nyla looking at him shocked before she started to chuckle. " How is me talking about my ability hot as hell?" She asked smiling.

"It's just the way you talk about it." He said. "You know what your talking about And there is a glint in your eye." He said. "It's a trait I enjoy, head strongedness."

"Well maybe there are tests they never tried the first time they caught one." Akaru said. "Maybe with the supers we have there could be powers we could use on the zombies that might help us know more. I can't remember if we have someone who can read minds, but that would be strange huh? Reading a zombie's mind."

Wolf shuddered. "I'm not sure I would want to read the mind of a zombie." He said. "I never liked the glazed look in their eyes."

Akaru chuckled. "I don't know anyone who does. Do you want to go inside maybe? It's going to get dark in an hour or so." he glanced at the sky

"Y-yeah, we can head inside if you want." Wolf said. "I don't mind behind out at night, not with being able to see decently anyway."

"I know, but it's going to get chilly." Akaru said, shviering as if to emphasize. It already was getting chillier, though he guessed Wolf couldn't feel it. He opened the door back into the main lobby, holding it open for Wolf. "They should have some leftover dinner for us in the cafeteria." he smiled.

Wolf pulled his lips back showing the sharp canine teeth. "Sounds good to me." He said as he followed and went inside, waiting for Akaru before heading to the cafeteria.

Akaru followed Wolf, pulling off his jacket once he was in the door. He passed Wolf, leading the way to the cafeteria. "So what were you up to before the injury? Did you find anything interesting while scouting?" he asked

" I have a glint in my eye when I talk about it?" Nyla asked. " Me knowing the difference between life forces and what they are. You know even animals feel different."

Cutter smiled. "Yeah? What soul types do you like the most?" He held out his hands for her to hold.

Wolf shook his head. "No, sadly. The runs are getting less and less successful. We either need to start expanding our searches and doing over night runs or...move the Haven."

" healthy living ones." Nyla told him. " They are strong and it gives you a rush when you take their energy away."

Cutter chuckled. "Is that so?" He asked as he ran a thumb over the back of her hand.

"How much do we still rely on scavenging? We may be able to become self-sustaining here." Akaru suggested, walking into the cafeteria

"For medical supplies and other things we still need it." He sighed. "A lot of the painkillers are stuff we need. As well as clothing, books, and other things." Wolf said.
