Guardians (2.0)

Serhan wandered down the forest path, trying to follow the crudely drawn map he was given to the Guardians' house. He looked rough after walking 16 days to get there, using up the last of his money to buy food along the road. The hem of his long grey coat was fraying in areas and scuffed with dirt in some places. He passed a spot where the trees opened up and he could see down the slope to where the house was. Relieved, he decided to just take the short cut sliding down the steep hill carefully until he reached the bottom, cursing as he tripped and nearly landed on some rocks by a stream. He looked up and stopped to stare at the house for a moment.

Ajax fixed the wrinkles in his shirt as he walked out into the living room. He paced slightly. The man who sat on the couch shook his head as he stood up and his big ears flicked. "Relax Jax. It's gonna be fine." The man said as he placed a hand on the others shoulder.
"What if they get lost, or what if they didn't come Orrik? What if they start to wander into the woods without me there and get lost? What if-" he continued to ramble until Orrik closed his mouth. "Sorry..." Ajax whispered.
"Don't apologize, your fine, just relax my scouts said that they have the people on their way, though every one of them might not be there on time but they will get there."
"Speaking of getting here, where are your brothers? They need to be here before I start bringing the trainees in." H
Orrik sighed. "Ray is on his way, as for Azzi I do not know exactly, but I will make sure he is here before you get back, don't worry." Orrik said as he walked with Ajax to the door.
"Just make sure the two of them are behaving themselves, and that you are all human when we get back-!"
Orrik rolled his eyes and shoved him forward. "Go! Before you're late!"
"Right, right!" Ajax said as he walked down the porch as he started to walk into the woods, the trees seeming to shift and move out of his way.

Serhan walked across the yard to the door. At first he thought it was abandoned, then he saw movement inside. "I hope this is the right house and not a completely different strange house in the middle of the woods..." he muttered as he knocked on the door, trying not to think how bad he looked after two weeks of hiking.

Sam sat in the in a small Ricky shack petting a cat that was in her lap. " Who's a good girl she cooed at them."

A small white bird with a long tail feathers sat on a low hanging branch as it watched Sam. It chattered and chirped.

As the door knocked there was a groan, almost like that of a tree bending in the wind as the door remained shut for a bit but then it opened and a fair skinned man who stood adout average height opened the doors "Oh!?!" He gasped slightly. "Hello, how can I help you?"

"Hi, um, I was given a map and told to come here." Serhan held up the map for the man to see. "By a talking white bird of all things. I thought it was a fever dream but this place seems real enough." He glanced around the door frame.

The door was a bit larger than an average door.
"Ah, yes!" Orrik smiled. "Though I thought I had the maps say to meet in the town park and we'd meet you there, odd." He mumbled. "Oh, sorry!" He said as he held the door open. "Please, come in!" He smiled gently and kindly.

Serhan raised and eyebrow at Orrik and stepped inside cautiously. He glanced around the house but kept Orrik in his peripheral. "I was told something about you were inviting people to this house to become four demons or angels or something..." He said, looking unsure.

"hehe, not demons or angels, guardians. They are something else, and almost more powerful." Orrik said as he walked into the livingroom motioning to the chairs. "would you like water at all?" He asked.

"Yes, please." Serhan nodded immediately, parched. He hesitated looking at the chairs, but his exhaustion at the long hike made him accept a seat, taking off his backpack and setting it down beside his legs. He rubbed his eyes tiredly.

Sam saw the bird and thought it unique because it was a bird she has never seen before. She watched and listen to her whistle and chatter, after a moment Sam began to try and mimick the birds song.

Orrik walked into the kitchen and brought out a glass or water and handed it to him. "Oh, where are my manors, I am Orrik." He said as he offered his hand to him.

The bird turned an eye towards Sam and whistled a tune as it flew closer. Grasped in its claws was a small roll of paper.

Sam whistled back spotting the paper in its claws. " What's that you have little bird?"

Serhan took the glass. "Nice to meet you, Orrik." He shook his hand. "My name's Serhan." He drank half the glass in his first drink, then gazed around the house again. "Are there others here?"

The bird flew down and extended small foot clutching the paper as it continued to sing.

"Pleasure to meet ya." Orrik grinned. "And there will be others soon, but they aren't here yet." Orrik said. "If you would like to shower you can or nap, or both." He offered as he sat across from him.

"Both definitely, in that order." Serhan chuckled as he got up. "Thank you. I didn't expect to be the first one, it took me two weeks to get here." he picked up his bag.

"oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that. Well bathroom is down the hall on the left. I'll go get you some fresh linens so you are a bit more comfortable." Orrik said as he stood up and walked up the stairs.

Serhan walked to the bathroom and showered quickly, trying his best to wipe the street grit off him. He changed into the cleanest pair of clothes he had in his bag before going out to the hall. "Are there other people living here now, or is it just you?" he asked.

Sam took the piece of paper curiously opening it wondering what it read.

"Oh I don't actually live here, I just visit very often." Orrik said. "I'm like an uncle to the house owner, Ajax." Orrik said. "You'll get to know me better in time."

Hello, and well met young friend, My name is Ajax Nakutazuka, and I have sent you this note because I am in search of someone with your particular jive and skills. I ask for you to meet me today in the west end of Rosewood Park, near the bench by the willow tree. I can provide more information over lunch. See you then. ~Ajax Nakutazuka the node read.

"Where is Ajax then?" Serhan asked, following Orrik down the hall. "I think I'll pass on the nap for now. I want to know more about this guardian stuff and why I was asked to come here."

" who says Jive these days?" Sam asked confused as to why he would want her. She was some homeless kid living in the park. But she figured since she wasn't super far from where he was saying to meet she thought to check it out.

"He's out to meet up with some of the others who will be living here." Orrik smiled. "When all the others are here to join us he will explain everything a bit more."
A groan like bending of hot steel came from the living room and a loud boom echoed down the hall followed by a rush of heat. "Yo, Orrik where the fuck are ya?!" A gruff voice called out as feet padded down the hall. A massive being stood behind them, standing at 7 feet tall, not including his horns that spiraled back, almost elegantly. Deep tan skin glistened with small beads of sweat and a mohawk of fire crowned the short black hair on either sides of his head. He stopped and blinked blue-green eyes. The left side of his body was covered in strange red and white tattoos. Sharp teeth pointed out with a single tooth a bit more prominent than the others as he looked down to Orrik and Serhan. Behind the man's legs stood a tiger of fire. "Uh..." The man trailed. "Was I supposed to come as a human?" He asked flatly.

Ajax emerged from the woods, the trees parting for him briefly before they closed and his the path to house. Ajax sat down and pulled out a book as he came to the bench.
