" I felt power when I held ryder." She shook her head.

"And we'll figure out what that power is." He said.

Nyla shook her head. " We aren't finding out. I saved Griff and Akura. That's all I came for."

"So we're going back then?" He asked.

" No. I'm leaving till I can control my new powers." Nyla told him.

"I'm coming with you." He said.

" No. You stay. You have the cure I can't risk you dying." Nyla told him sternly. " Akura can keep working on the cure once Hoss is taken care of."

"No, I'm going with you!" Cutter said.

" No." Nyla shook her head. " I need to do this alone."

"And I'm not about to leave you!" He said. "I love you, so no."

" Cutter. You are s after here with them. Not with me. Yes you love me. But I could kill you and I can't risk that. " Nyla looked at her hands which were trembling.

"I don't care. I want to be with you." He said.

" I will be back." She promised. " I can't risk my friends and family the people I love. Not when I don't know how to control my powers."

"Please...don't do this." He said.

" I can't risk it." Nyla mumbled.

"P-Please..."

" I don't want to leave Cutrer. But to keep you guys safe I have to."

Cutter looked down. He just shook his head.

" I'm sorry. Hoss would laugh knowing i hurt a friend..." Nyla whimpered.

It's okay." He said.

" I don't want to be a monster." She whispered mainly to herself but cutter could hear.

Akaru got up and walked around a bit, looking down at his healed leg.

"you are not a monster. You are Nyla...my lover and healer to the Haven." He said.

Wolf watched him.

"How are you feeling?" Akaru looked over at Wolf and asked

Nyla shook her head. " I'm not a healer if I can't control my powers. "
