Eli turned the corner and he knew he was completely out of sight of everyone he knew. "I hope she isn't too worried about me..."

Amelia lay on the floor bleeding from her side. Around her were little creatures branded with the mark of doom. They quickly scurried away.

It was too late to give chase. Realizing this, Eli looked at her, "I can't lose both of you" He stood up and lifted her onto his shoulders and ran out to find Doc

Doc was in the mess hall. There too had been attacked. He was healing others.
