"That happens with these sorts of people." He said.

"I'm ready anytime, it's not like there's studying involved with testing my natural ability." Eli said. "That'd defeat the purpose of this test run. It's always better, at least for me, to try first and see where I'm at before doing anything else. Just go ahead and start."

Sam was away from everyone else as she tried to learn fire. She had a book about fire element in her lap as she practiced.

"Alright." Azriel said. "Hurgl ach Durk kanzi vi quaznov va Tai learzan va Se, ach tai Fwaezan of tai Zalkzan." He said.

Rayyan was looking for her and seeing her practicing he walked up next to her and sat down silently watching her.

" If you were trying not to be noticed you failed." Sam said trying to get a spark.

"No I just didn't want to break your concentration." He said watching her fail. He chuckled. "Fire is probably most difficult to master. You can't make it do anything. It's less of commanding it and more like, directing it." He said.

" can't direct it if I can't even get a spark." Sam said with a bit of attitude.

"Unlike the other elements, Fire is something you feel instead of create."

Eli looked at Azriel with a questioning face, "Hunger and thirst can be quenched by the tears of time and the flames of the soul?"

"Souls, but yes, that is the translation." Azriel smiled.

Sam rolled her eyes reading the book in her lap.

"I'm not lying." Rayyan said. "Fire doesn't follow a lot of properties, so it makes sense that it's hard to learn"

"I k ew that was the plural form, but the sentence makes more sense with a singular soul. I mean, since you put "the" in front of it." Eli replied and shrugged. "But that's whatever, I mean it was a test right?"

Yes, but you also have to understand that Demons talk a little differently then humans do." He smiled. 'to them, Soul doesn't sound right but Souls is right." he chuckled. 'You'll get the hang of it in time."

Eli shrugged again, "I guess so"

"Don't worry. "Alright. Let's try a simple barrier spell. I want you to make a barrier to contain this fire from spreading." Azriel said as a small patch in front of him started to burn. "Repeat the words I say then point at the center of the fire." He said. "Jhankrovza va Fwae yevz geeh va yevz geeh."

Eli nodded, "Jhankrovza va Fwae yevz geeh va yevz geeh." He pointed directly into the heart of the fire.

An invisible ring formed around the fire and it was contained in a box area of three feet by three feet. "Wonderful job Eli. Now, extinguish the fire using a Barrier." Azriel said.

"How do I do that Az?" Eli asked unsure of what to do

"Use the same spell I just taught you but change Yevz to Ool. From three to zero." Azriel said.

"So essentially changing the dimension of the current barrier from 3 feet by 3 feet to nothing that will extinguish the fire because it is already within the barrier?" Eli asked trying to make sure he understood the concept

"Hopefully." Lei sighed

"Do you know much about them?" Yashvi asked

"Yes." He said. "What you are casting literally says, Contain the fire three feet by three feet. If you tell it to be contained by zero by zero anything in the spot you point will be silenced and stopped, and it will create a shock wave of sorts.

"I know of the old Guardians not so much the new." Twiggy said.

"I know you will." Ajax said.

Eli smiled happily because he was correct in his thinking. He then looked at the fire and said, "Jhankrovza va Fwae ool geeh va ool geeh." He then pointed at the fire.

"I want to keep practicing but I'm getting a bit tired." Lei said

"What are the old guardians like?" She asked
