"It's the storm demon. He's probably been keeping the reapers away." She said.

"The nimbus?" Alec asked

"Yes." Kro nodded. "I don't know much about them but from what I've heard, they find one thing to focus on completely and lose their humanity. He's probably collecting ghosts like some weird obsession."

Alec shrugs, "It still doesn't bother me. Not much does."

A small gaps came from Riley as the shadows enveloped him and pulled him down.

When Riley awoke there was a girl crouched in front of him in a large dark space. Due to the darkness she was nothing more than a faint shape and the strong presence of another person there.

"Well they bother me... All these ghosts can't be normal and how long will it be before reapers come to collect them..." Kro said.

"Well I'm leaving." Kro put on her coat and walked out

"But the other girl is still asleep." Alec said

"Tell her to just go back to the house." Kro said as she left. She went back out into the snowy forest

Kirin eventually opened her eyes and looked over at Alec, "Do you know where Kro went?"

Kro was already far out into the forest by the time Kirin opened her eyes.

Riley jumped back his hand glowing for a moment before the shadows destroyed his light.

The light illuminated most of the area for a split second and he could see that they were underground. The figure in front of him was a girl sitting on her knees, watching him with curiosity. She was clearly a demon, with ox-like horns, a long tail and unnaturally coloured green eyes.

"H-Hello." Riley said.

"Hello." She replied. "The shadows took you too huh?"

"Too? You where taken by Shadows?" He asked.

"Yes a few months ago. What is your name?" She asked

"I'm Riley." He said. "You are?"

"Mehrabah or just Mera for short." She replied

"Mera, nice to meet you." He said.

"You too." Mera said. "Maybe you can finally help me get out of here."

"I'm not even sure where here is." he said.

"Underground, so that means we should dig up." Mehra said. "I could do it easily but for some reason I haven't been able to use my powers for a long time now."

"Yeah, that's what's scaring me." He said. He started to dig up against the darkness.

Mehra tried to use her powers, creating cracks in the ground above them but nothing more.

"So what is your power?" He asked.
