Soul Takers 2.0

Alec put his hand by the eye that had changed to become half blue and half red.

"Was it always half red?" she asked curiously, wanting to make sure she wasn't finally going crazy

"Huh? No it was fully blue..." Alec replied

"Hmmm..." she peered curiously at his eye and just instinctively felt his forehead and cheeks, not quite knowing what else to do. "Your sister... she was asleep when I first went upstairs, but she did say something while I was up there... It's why I got down here so quickly"

Alec blinked and suddenly he had a far away look to him, "Something dangerous is here..."

"What do you mean?" She asked, taking a step back to get a better view around the room and of the stairway

Alec blinked, "That's what Adri said too, isnt it?"

Kirin gaze at Alec curiously, trying to keep her ears open for anything out of the ordinary, "Yes, actually, pretty much the exact same thing..."

Alec closed his eyes and listened, "Downstairs, basement. So dark..."

Kirin went cold. "It's still here...?" She felt her insides begin to churn and a bit of panic begin to rise, causing her face to flush a little. There was no way the two of them would be safe here

Alec opened his eyes, "It's the same energy... the energy I felt just before I could see...."

Kirin's heart sank a little, "Alec, I'm just going to say this now... neither of you are safe here. We'll all fight hard if we must, but I can't guarantee that we can keep you out of harm's way..."

"You don't understand Kirin. The energy came from within me." Alec said.

Kirin blinked, "Wait, what?"

"Adri said it before me, which means she sensed it first. I couldn't sense it because it was inside me..." Alec's eyes grew wide, "I was never really blind! The darkness... he must've.... no no no no no...." Alec looked directly at Kirin. "You need to get away from me... Im the danger."

Ignace leaned over to check Adri's eye. "That's strange..." he blinked

Kirin's eyes hardened with resolve, "No, you were just it's unwilling carrier" she insisted. "We can try to figure this out"

Ignace got up and walked out to the hall and stopped at the top of the stairs. "Hey Kirin! Something's going on with Adri's eye!"

Kirin turned towards the stairs, "I'm coming!" she called before turning back to Alec, "Please just wait here, shout if anything happens" she said, resting her hand on top of his head briefly before dashing up the stairs.

"What's happened?" She asked when she got to the top of the stairs

"Her eye's glowing red." Ignace replied

Alec turned away when she ran up the stairs and smiled. He whispered quietly, "Damien... the blind trick worked so well... they really think I'm with them."

Adri stood up holding the side of her head

Kirin nodded, "It may have something to do with her brother. It's a bit of a weird story, but he's downstairs, his eye changed too." Kirin grabbed hold of Ignace's hand "Come with me" she said and hurried back towards Adri's room, pulling Ignace along with her

Adri put her hand over her half red eye

Ignace glanced back down the stairs Alec's way then. "You think there's a connection between the two of them and their eyes?"
