Kirin blinked at him in surprise, "Almost?" she asked. "Well it's a hell of a lot better to not see rather than having been consumed by that... thing" Kirin muttered. She shook her head, "I'm sorry, but how did you get away?"

"I saw a blinding white light and felt someone grab my arm... Then I was just somewhere else. But I couldn't see anymore..." Alec answered

[*Holds breath to contain excitement* Holy fudge ]

"Hmmm," Kirin stayed silent for a moment, thinking of what Adri had shown her, and then the incident with her dad... well it certainly made sense

"I'm not sure... but it might've been my mom that saved me. She was an angel, and many of my abilities stem from her side of the family." Alec said

Ulmis had taken Kro far ahead of Kirin and the boy, disappearing down some hallways to a large room that looked like the inside of a mansion with stairs leading up to bedrooms. They sat Kro down on a comfy armchair by the fire place and added another log of wood to the fire. The ghost of a woman appeared next to Ulmis, glancing at Kro.
"Hello mother." Ulmis said to the ghost. "Can you tell Lockwood to make himself scarce? We have guests and I think they're already too overwhelmed as it is."
"I will." The ghost nodded and disappeared again.

Riley suddenly ran into Charlotte, knocking her over.

"What the hell are you doing out here?"

"Looking for Kro." Charlotte replied.

"K-Kro?" He said almost dropping Rhett. "What do you mean, she left?!"

"Yeah she thought it would be better for you and Colton if she just left." She said.

Colton then dropped Rhett. "Where did she go?" He asked.

"I have no idea." Charlotte shrugged

Rhett groaned when he hit the ground, then got up slowly.

"No..." He said gently. He shook his head. "I have to fix this." He said. He "B-Both of you two have to get back. Stay in the house. I have to find Colton and Kro." He said.

Charlotte took Rhett and nodded, started to walk back to the house.

Riley watched them leave and then went running through the forest.

Kro shivered as she sat down by the fire. Ulmis piled a couple blankets onto her.

Rhett was relieved when he could see the house up ahead.

Riley ran through the forest trying to find Kro or Colton or any sign of the two. He looked down.

Ulmis left Kro there to get warm and tried to find where Kirin and the boy had gone.

A long shadow followed Char and Rhett.

Riley let his anger take hold and started to destroy the forest.

Charlotte could sense something dark and looked back, noticing the shadow. "Get to the house! Quick!" She started to run and Rhett followed.

Kro could sense the trees in the forest being torn down. She held the blankets tight around her and stood up from the chair.
