Soul Takers 2.0

Char just gave Riley a concerned glance and kept trying to heal Colton as best she could, but it was slow and difficult. Only the wounds she inflicted herself onto Doom and by extention to Colton actually healed over. "Rhett can you get me the medical kit? We might have to do this the old-fashioned way." She asked.

Rhett nodded and went towards the back of the house in the same direction Riley and Adri went. He headed for the closet and the bag of medical supplies he'd left by the door. He had more trouble carrying the med kit back than he'd expected, while it was a pretty decent sized box that weighed a few pounds, it wasn't heavy.

"Then we will find a way to stop it." He said."There is always a way Adri. We will not let him destroy this world."

Colton groned. "i'm sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry about Colton, this isn't your fault. We'll get you better. You're family, no matter what we'll forgive you and support you." Char said.

Rhett carried the box back and set it on the coffee table and shifted the table closer to Char could reach it more easily. He went to sit down across the table in one of the arm chairs.

"I let him catch me." he groaned. "Had I not...we wouldn't be stuck like this."

Adri didnt reply, instead she sat silently holding her knees up against her chest as she stared forward. She quietly whispered to herself, "I wish dad were here..."

"You say that like you wanted him to catch you." Rhett said.

Riley sighed. "I'm sorry little one. I wish he where here too. He could help us. We really need all the help we can get...we need you."

"I-I did at first, I thought I could prove a point to Riley...but he tricked me." Colton said. Tears had formed in his eyes again.

“Prove what point?” Charlotte asked.

Rhett sat to think for a moment before he got up and went to find Riley and Adri.

"He knows the m-most about Doom... he has f-fought him in every d-dimension that's been destroyed so far..." Adri replied. "And if he w-were here... maybe I w-wouldnt be so behi-..behind in my training to learn how t-to use my abilities."

"That he needs me."

"I know little one. But we need your brilliant mind. We can help you train yourself, and in return you can help us defeat this mad man." He said gently.

"He already knows he needs you." Charlotte said. "He probably needs you the most of anyone."

Rhett stopped by the doorway and watched Riley and Adri talk for a few moments.

"But w-what use is m-my mind if someone who m-mastered his abilities over so many y-years and studied the enemy so cl-closely couldnt even put up that much of a f-fight? Im so far behind that I f-feel useless... all i know r-right now is... Doom is using tricks. He always does. He is a m-master of manip-pulat-tion." Adri looked directly at Riley. "How can I p-possibly help?"

Riley looked at her and smiled brightly. "Be he's not expecting to be taken down by a little girl. He's too cocky for that." He said. He held her hands. "Adri...I need you to get inside his head. I need you to break him down and help us find his weaknessess." Riley said. "If you can help me I'm sure I can help train you in your abilities, after all I am one half of Satan." He smiled.

"But he doesn't ever act like it." Colton said. He hissed as his arm started to twist.

Adri smiled slightly, "I understand why all the oth-others follow you... alright. I'll tr-try."

"I'm almost baffled by how you two have been friends for centuries yet you still don't seem to really know each other." Charlotte said. "What's wrong with your arm?" She asked

"Riley." Rhett said to get his attention. "Char might need some help healing Colton's wounds."

"I-I don't know it feels like its being pulled from socket." he said.

"I will be right there." Riley told rhett. He petted her hair gently. "Thanks darling." He grinned. "let's go back up." He said offering her his arm.

Adri took Riley's hand and pulled herself up, but then a light emitted from her as she shifted into her angelic form without realizing it again. "Y-you know my mom had h-healing abilities... it's possible that is s-someth-thing that was passed to me. Th-then again I don't know how to use m-my abilities..."

Rhett nodded and headed back up the stairs, holding and leaning on the railing.

"Like dislocating?" Char checked his shoulder to feel if the bone was displaced. "Ignace can you check on Doom?"

"Sure." Ignace grabbed his katana from where Rhett left it and went outside.

"We can work on it." Riley said. "I know many who can help you." He said as he smiled as she changed. He walked with her back to where Colton was.

Doom was shifting in the tree trying to free his arm, which in his movement was causing it to start to dislocate.

Adri walked alongside Riley but as they finally got up the stairs on the way back, Adri's wings got caught on the doorframe. "Ow..." She glanced behind her, "Oh... I changed again..." She moved her wings so she could get past the frame and continued walking with Riley to Colton.

Ignace gestured to Neph inside the house and she followed him outside. She tightened the grip of the branches around Doom’s shoulder to keep him from moving it. “Better to have Colton feel tied up and constrained than injured I guess.” Ignace shrugged

Doom shouted something but was muffled by the tree covering his mouth.

Riley walked with her to Colton. "What's going on here?" He asked.
