Out in the forest and fields, a small hunting party ran into Hawkfeather and her apprentice. "Oh hey." He greeted. "Hawkfeather, you aren't gonna believe what happened just now, back at camp."

" what happened?" She asked curiously.

" okay." Cheza nodded still feeling bad.

"Stoneheart just got back from one of his "excursions" and guess this, he came back with a stray girl!" He laughed. "The idiot has gotten 2 weeks night watch."

"Come with me Cheza, I will show you where you will be staying for now." He said.

" why is he being punished for helping someone?" Gabby asked.

Cheza followed him.

"It's a stray. It's nothing too old but still, you know the unspoken code on strays, it's not right."

Scar lead her to a small separate house. "This is yours for now."

" which I don't agree with." She said bluntly. " since she came from the outside she will always be the outsider."

" thank you." She said softly looking at it.

"Noe, thats not true. Look at Willowfire and Stonefire." he said. "They weren't born in the clan, hell we don't even know who their mother is." He said. "They are clanmates like all the others." He said.

"It's not much but it will do." scar said. "You will get breakfast and dinner every day. For now you will be helping gen by picking medicine and other things until the leader decides what to do with you." He said.

" but their father was a clan member." She pointed out.

" okay." She nodded still looking around.

"Yeah, but he abandoned the clan for two years and then came back in the middle of a night carrying two babies." He said.

"Is there anything I can get for you?"

" still he probably left because he knew the rules on strays." Gabby said putting her hands on her waist.

" I'm scared." She answered.

Scar looked at her. "You don't need to be scared." He said.

"It doesn't really matter. He abandoned the clan and then gave us his kids." He said.

" still I don't agree with the rule." She said flatly.

" I've never been by myself." She whispered.

"If it wasn't in place every clan would be gathering numerous new members from the ruined world." He said.

" she was probably running from something." She told them.

"We are all running from something. Swiftfeet runs from the fact that he let his best friend die, Stoneheart from failing to save his apprentice, all of us run from something. Whether we know it or not, that is a different story."

" we don't know what life is like out there for her. " she told him.

Cheza shook her head terrified.

"Look, you aren't alone here. Inside the walls, you are safe everyone here is here to help you. If you want I can take you to Gen." Scar said.

"Can't be much better than here."

" or it could have been worst." She pointed out.

Cheza looked at him full of fear. " can I stay with you?" She asked.

"Never said it couldn't." He said.

"I have chores to do and you aren't allowed to leave the camp." He said.

" oh..." cheza said softly noding. " I'll stay here then."

" knowing scar he probably saved her from something."

"Yeah the two of you where close as kids right?" He said.

"I can bring you to Gen, or I can have Lindsy stay with you." Scar said.

" I'll be fine." She told him.


" Yes we grew up together." She nodded.

"Has he always been a stone cold bitch?" he said.

"You sure?" Scar asked.

" no." She told him.


Cheza nodded still terrified to be by herself..

Scar left but as he did so he grabbed Lindsy and told her to keep Cheza company. A little later Lindsy came into the cabin. "Hiya honey." she smiled.

"Really?" he laughed.
