" I don't want any of this." Sam snapped glaring at him. "I was doing just fine taking care of myself on the streets. So this whole I got family thing doesn't work for me. Because I don't have one never have never will. "

Eli smiled and he summoned a vortex of fire around himself a vortex that was cooler as it went up fading from blue to green to yellow then orange and finally red that led to his hands. Eventually I'll be able to make it be the hottest part of the flame all the way up to the top.

" Act like what? Myself? " Sam asked glaring at him. " Guess I'm and embarrassment. "

"No, just that type of attitude in an establishment like this draws unwelcomed attention. This is a bar for demons, most of which aren't the friendliest." Rayyan said.

"Nice, kid, very nice! Show me what attacks you've got." Azriel said watching with crossed arms.

" You brought us to a bar with demons?" Sam scoffed shaking her head. " Yup I'm better off on my own." She stood up her chair squeeking against the floor. " I'm going now."

"Relax, you're safe with me." Ray said.

"Here you two go." The waitress smiled. "Oh, bathroom is down the hall first on the right." She smiled setting down two large mugs of cold beer.

Sam looked at the waitress confused. She didn't need the bathroom. " any I trust you because?"

"I'm an Angel." He said. "Well almost an angel." He smiled. "And I'm buying you beer and dinner. No one is willing to give up free food." He said.

" I do." Sam told him flatly walking toward the door.

Before she could reach the door a drunk demon walked up to her. He gripped her arm. "Where's a pretty little thing like you going? It's not safe to walk alone." It hiccuped.

Sam rolled her eyes. She easily pulled her wrist out of his grip. " This ain't my first rodeo."

"Oh? It grinned grabbing her shoulder tightly, nails sinking into her bones. "How about trying your luck on a real bull?" It smirked picking her up by the shoulder. A long slimy tongue swirled around each individual finger, sucking on it. The tongue slid up her arm.

Sam growled she pulled her switch blade out and stabbed it into the demons eye.

The demon screamed stumbling back. It threw her onto the ground and stepped on her hand with the switchblade. "You little bitch!" He roared, his eye bleeding.

Sam kicked up hitting hI'm where the sun don't shine.

He stepped out of the way and pinned her legs down. "You're not even worth screwing, you'd be better for devouring!" It hissed it's jaw expanding to an unnatural size. It roared.

Sam didn't flinch. She used her other leg to kicked at him and her free arm to punch scratch and hit.

The pain in her shoulder grew worse from where he grabbed her. The demon swung his claws across her cheek.

"Heaven's Grip!" Rayyan snarrled. The demons was suddenly pulled off her and hung in the air. It thrashed, or tried to but nothing happened.

Sam groaned hissing from the pain in her shoulder she stumbled to her feet and walked out of the pub.

The pain in her shoulder worsened and her face started to hurt as well. There was a hiss from the demon, a bright light and a pop. The light faded and Rayyan rushed out. "Sam wait!" He said.

Sam didn't stop she just kept stumbling away.

"Sam wait!" Ray said hurrying after her. He ran in front of her. "That was a poison demon. I need to make sure you aren't infected or poisoned by him."

Eli let the flames swirl into his hands and fire out in two streams from his hands then he made the streams split more and then combine into a hotter stream. He then let the flames die out and summoned a light blue fireball into his hands and threw it, the best one he had done yet

Azriel took not. "Is that it?" He asked.
