Sam stopped and glared at him. " I'm a heartless bitch you said it yourself. " she said bluntly. " If any of you cared you would have been there when I actually needed someone. But I was alone. I had to adapt quickly. I learned to rely only on myself because people can't be trusted. They say the care and love you but then they hurt you.I don't believe any of you even care."

"Oh!? you really don't do ya!?" He snapped. "Leave then!" Ajax roared.

"That is enough, Ajax!" Azriel yelled appearing in between the two. "You're unstable right now." H

" What do you think I've been trying to do?" Sam smirked.

"Sam, please stop." Azriel said. He threw up his hand and a room of obsidian enclosed them. "Please listen to me for a moment.

" Why?"Sam questioned.

"One, because you're hurt and that's not okay. Two: you need to calm down. and Three: you may be able to save Aiden." Azriel said.

She snapped st him glaring. " like you even give a damn about me. And I'm fine. "

"I do give a Damn about you!" He said.

" And so did all the others who hurt me." She said bluntly.

"We're different!" He said.

"Are you? You haven't proven other wise. " Sam told him crossing her arms.

"We have been trying! But we also have roles to play!" He said.

" Yeah. I know." She scoffed. " I still don't think you are any different then all the rest."

"Because you haven't given us a chance." He said.

" Because I'm tired of giving people chances and end up hurting me. " Sam told him.

I wouldn't end up hurting Sam, nor anyone else here probably. Lei thought as he ate with Bai silently not far from where they were arguing.

"But how do you know we will hurt you?" Az asked.

" I don't. But never giving you the chance to makes sure you don't. " Sam told him.

"If you keep avoiding people that's just hurting yourself, and stops the chance of being close to anyone who wouldn't hurt you." Lei spoke up

Sam glared over at him. " Every damn time I've trusted people I got beat or raped or locked in closets and used as a slave. Not trusting people keeps me safer then trusting people who only hurt me."

"You think Ajax or I would do anything like that to you?" Lei asked

"That's exactly what they all say." Sam said to him still glaring.

"We don't want to hurt you Sam..." Azriel said.

" not hurt me? You already did." Sam told them.

"How?" He asked.
