He smiled and squeezed back.

"Good." Hog said. "How is Mia doing anyway?" He asked.

“Let’s celebrate his life.” She said.

"She's doing well. Kisa's not here because she's taking care of her, but Mia is a wonderful kid. Tad did a great job at raising her so far. She's loved helping in the kitchen the most."

"She use to cook with her mom and dad, I only kept doing what they would have done for her." He said.

"She's a bright girl, and so full of life. She reminds me of Kisa when she was still that young."

"I wish her parents where here for her. She deserves better than me." He said.

"Even if her parents were still here, she deserves you in her life."

"She deserves anyone better than me." Tad said.

"That's not true."

"She deserves her mother and father, or any mother and father." He said.

"You deserve to be in her life, and she deserves to have you as a fatherly figure."

"Yeah." Jonas smiled happily.

"You mean a stubborn asshole?" Tad said.

(So I’m thinking that sometime before Ashton dies he talks to Jonas, and that Ash is killed protecting Skylar)

She stretched up and kissed his cheek sweetly.

"You may be stubborn, but you're also loyal, kind and caring to those who have your affections. You would do anything for them and would go to any extreme just to protect them."

Okay I'll find a way to weave that in.)

Jonas blushed brightly.

"Which is why she shouldn't be with me. What about when I die, or if I get killed." Tad said.

"No. It means she's lucky to be with you. She's lucky to have someone care about her so much that they'd give their life for her. There are very few who would do such a thing."

Okay cool!)

Pulling away and noticing his blush, she blushed slightly too. “What is it?”

"Her parents already did that!" He said. "Even though she asks like she doesn't think I know, I know she knows what death it!" Tad said starting to get frustrated and upset. "She doesn't deserve to go through it again!" He hissed.

"N-Nothing, honestly, let's just go have some fun."

“Okay.” She gave a small smile and took his hand to follow him.

"And she won't. Not yet anyway. You're not going to die, Tad."

Jonas pulled her up the stair well and into the bar. There where people chatting all around and food going around too. A song played on the speakers overhead, and from the song came Ivan's voice. "Oh, darling, don'tcha know everything is alright, we all get lost in the night. I wish you'd stay right here with me, sitting under the starlight, sitting under the starlight~!"

"But she never deserved to go through it in the first place!" He said fuming. "She was 3!" He roared. "She was three when she woke, up and found her mother dead in her bed! When I found her fathers body on the street side, I went to see if they had been killed. I found her alone." he snarled.

Tad walked down the street, a cig hanging from his mouth in the cold morning. He walked the familiar street. and turned into the fenced in yard, where he stopped. He stared down at the bloody corpse on the ground, the cig falling from his mouth. He took off at a run and reached the house very quickly. He opened up the door, and bolted into the kitchen. Mia sat at a table, legs dangling off a chair and a bowl of cereal in front of her, with the milk splashed around her bowl. She dropped the spoon and as soon as she saw Tadoda. "Uncle Taddy!" She chirped happily as she hopped down from the chair and padded over to him. Tad let out a sigh and dropped to a knee opening his arms for her.
She hugged him and he clenched her to his chest with trembling arms. "Mia, where is Mama? Huh?
Is Mama home?" He asked.
"Mama's still in bed, she's sleeping!" the child chirped.
"Mia, you stay here, I have to go talk to Mama." He said as he picked her up and put her on the counter. "Stay here." He said as he walked down the hall and into the room. He placed a hand on the doorknob and opened it as he walked over to the bed. He looked at the lump in the bed, that had a pillow covering it's face. He walked over to it and felt it's wrist. He inhaled sharply and covered his eyes looking down. He wiped some tears away as he saw a note on the ground, written in blood. He unfolded it and read it. More tears poured down his face as he crumpled it up. "Taddy?" Mia called from the door way. Tad put the ball in his pocket and stood up, wiping the tears away. "Come on little one, I told you to stay sitting. But, how about we go to the zoo today, huh?" He asked with a shaky voice.
"But I have school." She said.
"No, the school called and told me that it was canceled today. So, come on, let's go get you dressed and go to the zoo. Mama's not feeling well so let's let her sleep. She told me so." Tad said as he picked her up and carried her down the hall.
"What about Daddy?"
"Daddy is at work right now. He told me to watch you for him and Mama, okay?" He asked. She nodded. "Alright, we're gonna get you all dressed up and then we're gonna walk to the zoo through the woods, okay? We're gonna have an adventure today." He said forcing a smile as the little girl smiled at him.

Tad held his head with trembling hands and he shook. "Just...shut up..." He hissed through his teeth as he gripped his hair.

Kanon sighs. "No one deserves it, Tad, but it happened, and there's nothing you can do about it. She's lucky to have you when her parents died."

As she gazed around the barroom, she couldn’t help but feel slightly vulnerable in her black and silver dress. She never really wore things like this. She was used to sweaters and hoodies and jeans. Not dresses. She glanced around and paused to listen to Ivan’s voice.
