Guardians (RP thread)

"I thought you guys would miss me?" Yashvi smirked at Azriel. She pushed herself to her feet and walked up to the porch, turning to sit down on the steps. "What are you reading?" She asked nonchalantly.

Lei moved back behind Ajax. "What now?" he asked. "Should we get out of the house in case there are more? Should we get everyone out of the house?"

Obsidian binds grew from the porch and wrapped around her wrist. "None of you business, what is it you are doing here?" he growled.

"I-I don't know." Ajax said as he felt Yashvi appear there.


"Calm down Burtoxim." Lucifer said.
"No! Tell me why Abrucca is trying to take over Azriel's Body. He is only 12, the boys still have 18 years before they become the guardians so tell me why!"
"Alright, chill!" the devil said. "Alec died."
"How, how on earth was the guardian of hell killed?"
"He had gotten sick with something I've never seen and when he was at his weakest, the blood demons attacked him and cut off his head. I'm sorry."
"No you aren't not yet. Tell me how do I save Azriel?" Burtoxim said.
"You can't his soul is already being devoured by Abrucca and even if you could, his eyes and mouth are gone, he'd be useless." He said.
"Then call her off!" Burtox barked.
"It's not like I can just tell her to stop! She's possessive, you should know that Dragkin." Lucifer said shaking his head. "She's gonna get what she wants and you can't stop her, you know that."
Burtoxim looked over at the bubble of water that still held the young Azriel. "Maybe I cannot stop her but maybe I can call her off for long enough. I know of a way to save him. I can give Abrucca my own soul if she gives back Azriel his own, and leave him alone for 18 years, until he is strong enough. And since I don't need my body, whatever he needs you give him." He said pointing to Azriel.

Yashvi looked genuinely shocked at the obsidian cuffs, but didn’t try to struggle. She pouted at Azriel. “That’s disappointing. I thought I left on better terms than this. I was practically Lei and Sam’s friend. I’m here because I like you guys.”

" will this happen to Eli?" She asked concerned for her friend.

Azriel held his head in pain. "I wish I wasn't always left alone." He said more to himself than to Yashvi. "Look I'm sorry but some weird shit is happening and we don't know what is going on. I-It's just a precaution, please understand." He said.

"Lets go outside." Ajax said as he started to lead the others out of the house. "Lei, come on."

Orrik shook his head. "No. This only happened because the Guardian of Hell died prematurely. In the order of death for Guardians Hell is always the last to die it's a precaution that happens to ensure the new Guardian is strong enough to contain Abrucca in their body so things like this don't happen. The dying Order is Heaven, Purgatory, Earth and finally Hell. Heaven normally dies right about 700 years, Purgatoy 710-720 years, Earth is about 730 years and Hell, well hell can persist anywhere from 750-780 years." Orrik said.
"You're talking about transmuting your flesh to the boy?" Lucifer asked.
"Yes. I know it can work, it's in the books."
"It only works if the two beings are related by blood!"
"Then it will work, Luci!" Burtoxim roared. "It will work right?"
"Technically, yes, but it will be slow and painful for you, three days of burning as Abrucca eat you, and your body will fail you as it regenerates Azriel." Lucifer said. "You are lucky you are the boys uncle." He said.
"I will do it, just...just save my family." Burtoxim said tears rolling down his face.
"As you wish." He offered out his hand to Burtoxim.
"It's a deal then." He said as he took the hand of the devil.

Yashvi frowned and tilted her head. “You alright there? You look like you’re in pain.” She looked over the cuffs. “I’m no threat, please let me go.”

Lei nodded and stepped in behind him and out onto the porch. He looked down at Azriel and Yashvi.

Yashvi looked back when they came out, giving a smirk to Lei before she gazed at Ajax, waving her cuffed hands hoping he would do something about them.

"I'm terrified." He said. "What is going on?" Azriel asked.
"Thaladon is dead." Ajax said.

“Demons came from portals and tried to take Ajax’s eye.” Lei explained further.

Sam watched what was happening. " you're drakin was your uncle?"

"Yes." Orrik said. "I'm the only one who knows it though." He said. "You see he and my mother were half siblings, same father and grew up close to each other. My father was sold when he was 10 years old for to the royals for protection and was trained as an assassin and body guard. He knew of the dragkin and the guardians but never paid mind to it because he didn't need to. After being framed for a murder of a royal women he took off and ran to Scottland to live in peace. It was here that he was blessed by a dragon and gifted the knowledge the Dragkin needs. One day our Mother finally found him and came to live with him after telling him she was pregnant. He helped her and took her in but she died having us and he was left to take care of us." He said. "He did well as a father too."

"WHAT!?" Azriel asked as he dropped his concentration and the obsidian cuffs fell away as he dropped his book and grabbed Ajax by the face. "Are you alright, they didn't hurt you or anything seriously, did they?" He asked panicked like a father worrying over a child.
"Azriel, I'm fine. They didn't get the dragon stone."
"Screw the dragon stone all that matters is you."
"I'm fine, and this stone is more precious than me, but relax." Ajax said as he pulled out of Azriel's grasp. "I think that demon might have been a Dimentional Demon." He said.

" okay." She nodded understanding.

Burtoxim fell to his knees and clutched his chest as his body started to flake off and small portions flew over forming to Azriel's body. The water bubble popped and Azriel fell. Burtoxim quickly moved and caught the boy and clutched him to his chest as he convulsed in pain. "I'm so sorry my boy." He cried as he shakily got onto his feet and started to carry him to the house.

" so this is how you lost your Dragkin?" She asked.

A dragon stone? In Ajax’s eye? Yashvi tried not to grin as she overheard, almost not noticing the cuffs falling away. She pretended to stare off into the forest, or look back at Lei, but she listened to Ajax and Azriel intently.

Lei stepped over to stand next to Yashvi. “What are you doing here? Isn’t there something you should be looking after?” He hissed in her ear.
“This is much safer believe me. I’ll explain later.” she whispered back, smirking at him.

"You're staying where I can see you." Azriel told Ajax.
"Worry less about me and more about the kids." Ajax said.

"Yes. Burtoxim slowly grew weaker and weaker. His eyes, his voice his skin was transferred to Azriel. And as a precaution the skin transferred to Azriel was grafted onto him as soul binding tattoos." Orrik said as he reached into the air and swiped to the side. The cycle of three days moved by in a flash. Orrik lead her into the doorway of the house. Azriel lay in bed, the burn marks on his arm and left side were covered up by the deep red and white tattoos he still donned in the present. On the other bed, Burtoxim lay, heaving his last few breaths, burnt eyes stared up to the ceiling, and the burn marks replaced his skin. A hole was burned in his throat. On the floor lay, in a pile of blankets, the young Orrik who laid asleep with his small hand holding the weak finger of his father as he slept. Rayyan was sitting with his head in his hands as he sat on a chair waiting for someone to wake up. He dosed off a bit as he sat there. Burtoxim's hand squeezed Orrik's gently before his eyes closed shut and his hand fell limp. Azriel groaned from where he laid and slowly blinked open his eyes. "W-What?" He groaned and Rayyan sat up and quickly kneeled by his brother's bedside. Azriel turned to look at Rayyan, but the eyes of Azriel where gone, and Burtoxim's eyes looked back at Rayyan. Rayyan started to cry.
"We can't save everyone Sam, No matter how much we try...or beg" he explained.

"But if you're gone or get hurt, who is going to protect the kids?" Yashvi asked, smiling at Ajax over Lei's shoulder.

Ajax looked to her. "What the fuck are you doing here?" He growled as he put the kids behind him.

"Everyone remembers when I tried to kill two guardians, but no one remembers the nice time I had with you afterward." Yashvi sighed, then raised her hands almost in surrender. "I'm not here to hurt anyone. My master hasn't had control of me for a long while, in fact, I'm sure he doesn't even care about killing you anymore."

Ajax narrowed his eyes. "And why would that be?" He asked.

"I was sent on something between a wild goose chase and a suicidal mission, or so I understand. Which is to say, I have absolutely no clue what my master's really planning." She shrugged.

"I don't trust you Yashvi." Ajax hissed.

"And I don't trust myself. That's why I'm here." Yashvi sighed and gave a sidelong glance at Lei. "I've got nowhere else to go and I need to lay low."

Ajax followed her gaze to Lei. "Why us?" He said. "Plenty of demons walk the earth, as do Angels, I'm sure you could find others."

"I'm not a demon. I'm some undead puppet for a sick demon." Yashvi rolled her eyes. "I don't know any others, but I know you guys."

"We don't want you here." Ajax hissed. "You almost got two of my guardians killed!"
