"only my soul." He said. "I'd say you're what...20? 22?"

"16, that's how old I was when I died." She said

"You look much older." he said.

"It's because I'm tall." Yashvi said

Eli looked away from Azriel and walked away from the group

"Where are you going?" Orrik asked Eli.

"No you look mature." He said

"It's no use just standing around with everyone... I'm well enough to do stuff so I'm gonna go practice my abilities, you know? Train." Eli said while not stopping. He continued to walk away. In reality he was leaving since he still didn't feel at home with the group, the only person in it he felt he knew decently was Azriel and with him acting like that, Eli didnt want to be there. He continued walking away while looking down. His arm kept breaking into blue flames and then going out.

Zola was still in his hair, following him where ever he went.

Eli kept going until he wandered into the forest, he kept walking for a while before he stopped. He leaned against a tree and fell to the ground while bring his knees up to his chest. He then remembered Zola was still with him. "Sorry about that Zola... I just couldn't stay there right then..."

Zola grumbled softly and gently patted his head with her paw. She climbed down from his head and once she hit the ground a loud crack filled the air. She turned into some beast looking similar to that of a wolf but it had a short tail. She had two sets of horns growing from her head. One curled like a rams and the other spiraled into the air. She sat next to him, resting her head on his knee.

Eli smiled slightly at Zola and rested a hand on her head.

She groaned and licked his hand.

Eli sighed, "I don't feel like I belong there still. Everyone is friendly toward me, but i dont feel like I deserve their friendliness... nor do I deserve their trust. Not because I'm not trustworthy, but because i... I have an inability to trust them myself..... I've never been good with a team..."

She nuzzled him.

"The last time i worked on a team before this, they blamed everything on me and i took the fall. Over two years locked up.... All because of their ideas..." Eli said. "It's why i cant trust people anymore"

"These people would never do that to you." Twiggy said walking out of the forest.

(idk who that is so neither does my character lol)

Eli glanced over and slowly started to back away, forgetting he was against a tree already and hitting his head lightly on it

"Careful kid." Twiggy said.

Sam followed Eli as well she was behind a tree listening to him carefully. " We have a lot on common then." She said making herself visable. " I'm just learning how to trust people myself. All my antics I've done are because I don't trust people. You spent two years in jail. I spent a few years as a sex slave." Her voice broke when she said that. She hadn't told anyone else that. " But twiggy is right we won't ever do that to you. We are a family. I've always wanted one. One that will do anything for each other. So I promise you this. I'm not ever going to leave you behind or throw you under the bus for my own gain. If anything happens we are in it together. " she swallowed loudly she was nervous he would be mad at her for following him.

Eli glanced at Sam and then away down at Zola. "I know you all arent like that... It's not your fault. I just dont have the ability to trust others right now. There's only two people in the whole world I trust. A boy and a girl that were in an abusive foster home with me once... They had both arrived there before me, the boy only a day before. The girl had been there for over a month and warned us about the family... The foster father would.... he raped her each night since her second night there. She told us not to do anything that would make it worse. Well the whole family would abuse the other boy and me, however everyone left her alone because they knew what the father was doing... One day the father went to drag her away again, for the second time that night. She was sick at the time and I knew that she was already hurting a ton... she said not to do anything but that time i stepped in. I pulled her away from the father while I made the other boy call child services in secret. I was beaten to the point i needed to be in hospital for a month when they arrived, but I had saved the other two... They visited me in the hospital before they were sent to another home. I never saw them again... but I know out of anyone, I can trust them. I saved each of them from beatings and other things and if they had the ability I know they woulda too. I have more than my fair share of stories like that, I'm sure you do too... That's why outta everyone here other than Az cause he has been around me more, you're the one I feel the least uneasy around. But even then..... I just dont have the capacity to trust anymore." Eli sighed and a few tears dropped down from his eyes

Sam was crying too. The girl he talked about sounded similar to an event that happened in her life. But no one was there to save her. She was only 10 when it happened to her. " She was lucky you were there to save her. One of my faster dad's did the same thing to me. But no one saved me. One day I ran away. From then on I was on my own. I stayed out of the streets by my self for a year or two. Then I met this guy I thought he was my friend. But he betrayed me. He used me like everyone else in my life. Everything went so fast next thing I know I'm being passed around as a toy for men's pleasure. I finally got away Last year." Sam wrapped her arms around herself holding herself tightly. " I'm sorry..." she mumbled turning away from him whipping the tears from her face.

"Like I said, I feel more at ease with you because you have a similar past. At one place i was sent... I was literally beat to the point my heart had stopped. Luckily the neighbors had called for an ambulance... I was technically dead for a full 3 minutes." Eli said "pretty much any longer and I would never had made it here. The thing about that was... it happened before the other thing I said. I was at that home with the same boy from before, I got beat for protecting him."

" I'm a little envious of Fallen and Lei because they have siblings that were there for them. No abuse no living on the streets. No selling yourself for money." Sam mumbled sitting a few feet away from him cross legged. " have you tried to find them?"

Twiggy stood listening to them.
