Time Unbroken! (closed rp)

"I get that, but they just piss me off... Well it's not really our time... I guess we shouldnt interfere... You're right." Eli sighs, "Thanks Con"

"No problem... El..." Conner laughed. "Just take a break, man." He stepped outside with his hands in his pockets, the earth beneath is feet crunching slightly. "God, would kill for a smoke right now."

"Alright, and i thought i saw somebody with some the other day. Ya shoulda asked about them" Eli replied

"Ugh, I really should've." Conner groaned. "I just don't know what to do with myself in this time. Feel like I've been pretty useless, y'know? Not used to taking a back seat to things."

Eli nods, "I feel the same way. I've always been the frontman when it came to what I've done in life, I've never been the back stage kind of guy."

"I always had to look after my brother." Conner laughed, rubbing his temples as if recalling the stress-induced headaches that had come with watching out for his older brother. That was something he'd always felt shouldn't have been his responsibility.

"I was mostly on my own. Took care of myself until... Uh nevermind, that's all done now... But I was always independent and then i started a band, the one i was on my way to a concert for when you all appeared from nowhere and brought me with you."

As they talked, a woman came running into the area, clutching a small bundle to her chest. Tears poured down her eyes. She sobbed as she fell to her knees.

"I always forget you were in a band." Conner commented, assuming Eli probably didn't want to delve into his past much. He certainly don't want to devolve into his anyway. Not yet. "I used to kinda play guitar... I was never very good." He shrugged. "I do, however have a killer voice." He joked. "Chicks dig it."

Eli smiled hearing Conner then he noticed the woman. Eli goes over to her, "hey are you alright? What happened?"

Conner's stomach turned for a moment, watching the woman fall to her knees before them. "Oh my god, are you okay?" He crouched down in front of her, his brow knit in concern. "How can we help?"

"T-The nobles...they, they..." She cried and clutched the bundle, a small child, who had gone limp in her arms.

The color drained from Conner's face upon seeing the crumpled child. He ran his fingers through his hair in worry. "I- what can we do?" He choked downnthe waiver in his voice.

Eli grit his teeth and grew angry. "Conner I don't know about you, but i cant stay out of it anymore..."

"The woman looked up to the two. "P-Please kill me." She cried.

The sky exploded in the east, a large cloud snaking into the air, fire curling up it. The ground shook suddenly knocking piles of trash over, and causing the tree to groan in pain.

Eli clenched his hands into fists, "I know exactly how you feel... But I cant do that." Eli turns to the obvious direction of the battle, "But i can try to stop this from happening to others..." Eli takes off running

Glancing at Eli, Conner was about to open his mouth in response when an explosion in the sky caught his attention. He stood up, almost shielding the woman from whatever the treat was with his body as they readied themselves.

The woman watched him crying.

Eli ran off to the battle grabbing a weapon in passing

In the distance a massive machine moved across the land. It was honestly just a massive bucket, but it was suspended into the air by two massive mobile arms.

"Why the hell is a bucket causing trouble?!" Eli said when he saw it

Conner watched as Eli ran off, leaving him with the woman. "Get inside." He gently guided her to her feet, rushing her into the flier before chasing after him. "We're gonna fix this! I promise!" He shouted over his shoulder. Upon catching up to him, he caught his breath for a moment. "Would you care to ask it?" He laughed weakly.

Eli laughed slightly, "I thought i just did, but since it didnt answer, who wants to make it kick itself?"

One of the arms lifted up, the clawed fingers slamming down onto the earth below, the ground shaking below it. People where running away from the machine, He could see people perched on the arms, shooting down at the running people.

Eli glared at the people on the arms, "So that's how...."
