"Keep track of her. Watch her. Look, I get it. You don't trust her. I don't trust people easily either... So make sure she is there. Don't let her stray too far away." Eli answered.

Sam sighed knowing he was right. " You know very well I don't trust people easily." She remembered what he said about her to Lei. " I also know I'm not the most likeable person either."

"When someone has lived through the same situations as you, none of them are very likeable. However, it isn't like you're the only one who grew up with the system and all the bullshit within and outside of it." Eli said as he glanced at Sam, "And I am glad that I know you, that we are fellow guardians, that we are friends." He smiled warmly.

" I think being a male in the system would have been a whole lot safer." Sam said softly walking into the kitchen.

Eli glanced down and quietly whispered under his breath, "You'd be surprised..."

Were you raped raped by every male figure in your life? Eli could see Sam didn't speak a word from where she was in the kitchen making herself some food. While he was gone she learned how to speak into people's minds. " are you hungry? I'm going to make some food."

"No, Im not hungry." Eli replied. "Also there are a lot of sick people out there... It has happened, not Everytime... But it has... But what happens more is getting..." He trailed off but his thoughts continued his sentence, beaten within an inch of your life, even a couple times dying and being resuscitated...
and more than 80 percent of those times being because of protecting the others... Being forced to witness someone else be raped because I wasn't strong enough... And knowing that as soon as that home was found corrupt... I couldn't possibly even try to protect anyone again because we get separated every single time...

" At least you had someone who cared about you and you cared for to." Sam told him. " that's all I wished I had. Even though y'all went through bad shit. At least you weren't alone."

"That's it though... I could've taken it if they weren't there. The worry after being split up is unbearable... I never cared what happened to me." Eli replied

" But they would." Sam told him.

Eli shrugged, "Maybe, but they've never seen me again. They might not even remember with how young they were. I was always the oldest in every home I ended up in."

"Y-You stay here...Eli...I'll be fine." Azriel said with a hoarse voice. He sat up slowly. "I'll sit on the edge of the first two barriers... and once I'm stronger I'll head into the center." Azriel said as he got to his feet.

" Whoa." Sam said rushing to him. " You need to rest. You took a serious beating." She said urging him to sit back down. Smiled able to hear his soul again at least the scilence was gone.

Eli glared at Azriel, "Don't be a dumbass, Az. We need you back as soon as possible. I'm going with you. I trust in the others to keep this place safe. Aren't you the one who kept telling me to trust my instincts as a guardian? If I feel something is wrong I can always come back here"

"I don't want to cause anymore trouble than I already have." He said in pain as he slowly sat down not wanting to fight.

" It's not your fault Fia took over you." Sam said checking him out again. " an I use basic healing now?" She looked over at Ajax who kept telling her she couldn't use her healing powers

Ajax was asleep. "No...don't waste your powers on me." he sighed. "I will not heal." Azriel said. "These are wounds of the Soul, they can only heal with time." he said "If they ever fully heal at all..." he thought to himself.

" I can hear souls so why couldn't I heal them?" Sam said watching him. " I was in your soul and your head. Which btw I still can hear everyone's thoughts. I'll try not to listen but its kinda hard to block out."

"It wouldn't be any trouble, Az." Eli replied. "Seriously just let me help you."

"Hearing a Soul and fixing a soul is different. A wounded soul must rebuild itself with its own means. If you try to heal me I will just end up stealing parts of your soul to try to fix myself, which will cause you pain and will not solve any of the problems." He said "And boy I need to do this on my own...give a man, even a damaged man, his pride at least." He said as he slowly forced himself up to stand.

" Azriel you almost died." Sam said standing in front of him. " and we are all worried about you. So please let us worry and try to help."

"No. Like I said if you try to heal the wounds on my soul, I will end up hurting you." He said.

" then let Eli go with you to hell." Sam suggested " at least make sure you got there safely and games back."

"Fine...he can escort me to the first two barriers of hell. I don't want him any closer or demons may try to come after him." he said sighing.

Sam nodded she could agree with that.
