"Yeah... I don't think that's true at all..." Conner rubbed the back his his neck. "Thanks." He said, turning back to Zoul.

"It... Doesn't hurt anymore" Eli said as he tried to sit up

"Just lay still for a bit. Let your power come to you again." he said; Zoul then turned to Juels and started to work on her.

Jules tensed, her body stiffening as he neared her with the antidote. She tried to brace herself for the pain as she sat down.

Conner squeezed her hand as Zoul poured the antidote on her leg. He bit his lip as he watched.

She gritted her teeth as the pain that came with the antidote slammed into her leg, leaving her breathless and making her cry out. Tears burned in her eyes, threatening to spill over. She could survive this. This was nothing compared to other things she had been though. Besides...this time, she wasn't alone. She glanced up at Conner, trying to give a small smile, squeezing his hand back tightly. She was glad he was there with her.

Once the antidote worked it's magic he poured the liquid skin over and her wound started to stitch back together.

Eli sat up completely

"You feeling okay man?" Griffin asked.

Eli nodded as he stood up shakily, "Yea, nothing I can't handle"

"Please be careful." he said.

"I'm fine." Eli said, "I don't try to do anything if I don't think I can do it.*

"Okay..." Griffin said.

Conner sighed. You're welcome, asshole... He thought bitterly to himself before turning his attention back to Jules. "Are you okay?"

Once her skin was healed up, Jules slowly stood up, her leg feeling much better than before. She removed the bandage, seeing there wasn't even a scratch or speck of blood left. She glanced up at Conner and gave a smile. "Yeah, I'm okay. It sure hurt like hell, but it had to be done."

Conner laughed, glad to see she was okay. "Good. Don't go dying on me, okay?"

Jules glanced down, seeing that their hands were still intertwined. She flushed and released his hand before giving a small laugh of her own. "I'll try my best." She chided, smiling.

Conner stuck his hands back in his pockets, clearing his throat in embarrassment. "Ah... Right, you better..." He gave her a half smile.

Feeling embarrassed, Jules gave him a sheepish look. "Sorry if I hurt your hand..." She mentioned, referring to when she squeezed his hand tightly when the pain was unbearable. She felt her heart skip a few beats.

"What?" Conner raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Oh- that... you didn't, don't worry." He reassured her. "Sorry for holding your hand- unless you maybe liked it?" Shut up shut up shut up.

"Would you two just get on with it." Griffin said.
