"I'll take him, find Griffin." Scotty said slipping under his arm and stood up.

"Look at you, you weak man. And to think they call you the most powerful weapon!" Spear laughed as he paced around Griffin. He had tied him up his arms tied above his head and his wrists and ankles where tied together. A gag stuffed in his mouth. Blood dripped down his face.

Eli glanced at Scotty

Scotty was breathing heavily and had blood dripping down his face. "What got ya?" He aske.

"Spear did. Put his spear straight through my leg." Eli answered

" did you see the color tip?" He asked.

Eli shakes his head, "No I didn't, but he seemed pissed that he hit my leg, he aimed for my chest."

"Good thing you didn't get hit in the chest. It would be almost instant death." he said. "God... I hope Grif is okay." He said.

"You know why I hate you so much, Ben!?" Spear snarled. "Because there isn't that much different between you and me." He said. His bones broke out of his skin, the bones themselves made of metal. The bones started to knitt together and form a point. He grinned and his hands became spear points. Griffin squirmed. Spear laughed. "Afraid?" Spear said as he cut his cheek. "I would be."

"...he... he's the strongest person I've ever known... he'll be fine." Eli said

"Look at how weak you are." Spear laughed poking him with the point in the shoulder. Griffin groans in pain. Spear laughed. "What, that hurt you? That hurt the mighty Griffin!?" He growled as he slashed down his back. "Surprise surprise, the greatest weapon has a weakness!" He chuckled.

"He's strong, but he's human...he can only do so much." He said as he helped Eli into a house. Maria (Scotty's girlfriend/wife) was running around, bandaging wounded with some help. "Scotty where have you been!?" She asked scared.
"I'm fine babe. Get him help, Spear got to him. No identification on what color tip." He told her.
"Damn, that will take some time." She said as she helped Eli sit down. "What did I say? Not to trust Spear. I had a feeling he was working with the nobles." She growled as she started to cut off Eli's pants leg.
"I know but this is no time for lectures!" Scotty said. "I'm going back out."
"What, no!" Maria said. "Scott, stay." She said her eyes on the verge of tears. "I-I've seen so many dead...what if you...?" She trailed off.
Scotty walked over and kneeled by her. "I will come home. I promise but Griffin is weaponless and captured by Spear. I-If he dies...I can't forgive myself. He's my best friend." He said.
Maria nodded and looked at him. "well you better, I'm not the only one waiting." She smiled gently then pushed him. "Go. I have work to do." She said.

Eli looked down. Grif is my best friend too... I don't care if this version hasn't gone with us through time yet, he's still my best friend... and I let him down... again...

Scotty rushed off. "Tell me how much does in hurt?" He said.

Griffin growled. He felt the binds catch and he pulled trying to break the ropes. "Look at you struggle." He said. "I can't wait to see you really struggle." He said as he hooked a tarp and really pull it back. Badger was tied up and laid there, bloody and beaten. Griffin's eyes widened. He shouted into the gag. Spear laughed.

"It hurts like hell, I can't move it on my own." Eli answered

"Describe the pain, does it burn, is it numb, does if feel cold, what?" She asked as she cleaned it out.

"It burns a little." Eli answered

"Scale the burn, one like getting to close to a fire or a 5 burning your skin?" She asked.

Griffin pulled and the ropes snapped free. he jumped up as Spear slashed his chest and knocked him back to the ground. "Now you've pissed me off!"

"4" Eli answered

"Okay." Maria rushed off before rushing back. She started to apply an ointment. "Tell me if it helps or hurts." She said.

Griffin grabbed an iron rod stick up out of the ground and swung up as Spear slashed down. One of the spears hitting griffin in the shoulder. The rod pierced into Spear. Griffin growled. "N-never hurt my family." he snarled. He kicked Spear off and jumped up, pinning Spear down. He took the rod in his hands and beat and slashed at Spear over and over. Fang and Dag came running up. Dag pulled him off the still body. Griffin started to go limp. "B-Badger..." he groaned before passing out.

Eli winced but it faded away after a minute, "That feels a bit better."

"Okay, that means I got something right." She said as she applied more ointment. "You really care for him, griffin I mean."

"Yea..." Eli said

"Good." She smiled. "You know he needs more people that care like that. He's not as strong as he lets people think." Maria kept cleaning his wound, filling it with the ointment.

"Even so he is very strong... and he's saved my life more than a few times." Eli replied.

"He's saved everyone's life more than a few times." She said.
